So, there’s this old 1940s noir (?) film called “Gilda”. You may remember I mentioned it before! And I made some porn of it. (Or almost-porn. If it weren’t for the limited nudity thar I’d probably have submitted this to DA and claimed that Johnny just finished eating a really drippy popsicle.)
If you haven’t seen it, the movie is mostly about Rita Hayworth being sexy. And about the old film code thwarting me, as far as how I wanted the movie to end. I mostly hate love triangle plots (Goddammit, Hunger Games, I like you, but I stopped caring which of those dudes Katniss was gonna end up with about halfway through the first book), except when they seem to be leading to a threesome, in which case I *love* love triangle plots.
So, anyhow. My personal canon for the movie ‘Gilda’ is either that the movie tells the story that Gilda, Johnny, and Ballin concocted for the cops before running away together, or that Gilda and Ballin were secretly trolling Johnny the whole time. (He’d have richly deserved it.)

This is ALWAYS the best solution to stupid love triangles.

Ive actually seen this and agree on both counts; that love triangles are frustrating in fiction unless they end up in...
